The Foundation for Hispanic Education has opened its third charter high school, Roberto Cruz Leadership Academy (RCLA), serving the San Jose community in 2015. The Mission of the Roberto Cruz Leadership Academy (RCLA) is to empower students to become community leaders and socially conscious educators. RCLA implements a rigorous Teacher Academy that integrates technology, real-world projects, community values, bi-literacy, and an environment that promotes personalized learning where students have access to post-secondary educational opportunities. RCLA aims to educate students through college preparatory courses that empower them to be academically literate, critical thinkers, effective communicators and independent problem solvers who are agents of education and social justice with a commitment toward the community around them.
RCLA Vision is a school that is just, equitable, and environmentally sustainable for all. Supporting diversity, community, literacy, intergenerational collaboration, and self-empowerment so that all students become critical thinkers through a curriculum that is rigorous, innovative, and implemented through meaningful school relationships.
